4 out of 5 stars Great watch, one setback...   January 5, 2009
I bought this watch from WalMart for $21 with tax. If I had known the watch didn't have a back light I probably wouldn't have bought it. But now that I've worn it for over a month I can honestly say that there's no regrets on this end. I don't even use the back light too much but when you DO need it the watch is rendered useless in poorly lit areas such as when you're watching a movie at the theater. Other than that the timekeeping is AMAZING after a month or so the watch was only 2 seconds off atomic time, even though the specifications say its +/- 15 secs per month. Another thing I like about this watch is the calculator. Originally I had bought this watch for it's "nerd" factor but I'm actually surprised at how much I use the calculator on a daily basis. It's a great watch and I just bought the DB30 so I can have the light too.

Bottom line: Great watch, great time-keeping, calculator function is nice and easy to use, "nerd" factor is awesome :-).

Cons: No backlight

5 out of 5 stars Best watch I ever had.   October 15, 2008
I know this is a man's watch but I have been wearing the exact kind for over 25 years, I love having the calculator, alarm and stop watch all in one and would be lost without it!! Great watch for the money!

5 out of 5 stars Still telling the right time after 20+years on original battery!   September 20, 2008

I have owned one of these watches since I was in grade school back in the early 1980s. The band has since fallen apart but I've always kept it in my night stand drawer because I was fascinated that it kept going with the original battery intact. Just last night (9-19-2008) I found the watch buried deep in my drawer. When I took it out the time was spot on, less than a minute off what the rest of our clocks say. I haven't set the time on this watch since I was a kid and I'm 40 now. This baffles me.

How is it possible that this watch still runs? I don't know. I wish I knew exactly when I got it but I really don't remember. It had to be around 1982. Remarkable.

5 out of 5 stars CASIO CA53W-1 Watch with Calculator   July 3, 2008
Great value! I have been using and wearing these Casio calculator all in one type watches for the past 20 years or so. They are a great reliable watch and never break down electronically. When they do break down, it is only due to the plastic wrist band worn out and cracks off or the internal cell battery dies out. You can change the band and the battery if so inclined and it will work for another lifetime. However, they are so cheap in price, I just wind up buying a new one! It is nice to have a calculator on my watch handy for the times I may need to do some simple calcuations (like say figure out a tax on a sale item, or how much tip to leave at the restaurant! :-) Whatever these Casio Calculator watches are great and match any dressing style you wish to wear them with. Highest recommenation I give them especially for the cheap price.
