Amazon.com Product Description
Satellite radio listening just got more convenient and more affordable. Kenwood's portable KTC-H2A1 Here2Anywhere Sirius digital satellite radio tuner lets you enjoy Sirius's 100 different streams of music, sports, news, and entertainment programming almost anywhere: in the car, at home, at work, or even on a boat. Slide it out of your home system, into your pocket, and then into your car system, taking access to your favorite streams everywhere you go. Home and car docking kits--the Kenwood KPA-H2C and KPA-H2H, respectively--each include a slide-in mount for the tuner. The kits are sold separately and at least one kit and a subscription to Sirius radio are required for use of the KTC-H2A1.

The KTC-H2A1 is loaded with features like multiple search and display modes, 24 stream (station) presets that make finding your favorite stream a snap, and a 4-line dot-matrix LCD that scrolls complete song title and artist information. It even has a stream lock that lets you skip channels you don't want to hear--or don't want your kids to hear.

The display is designed to be clearly readable in both home and car, with a choice of normal or large-font characters. Search for music by category or channel type as well as by artist name or song title using the built-in guide.

Incredible handy is the ability to save the title and artist of a currently playing song (up to 24 songs) for later recall, freeing you of the risks of trying to commit your favorites to memory or trying to write while you drive. Channel scan lets you check out what's currently playing on another channel while you're still listening to the current stream, and a full-function remote control is also included.

Sirius broadcasts 60 streams of 100-percent commercial-free music, as well as an additional 40 streams for sports, news, and entertainment, all in clear, digital sound. There is no limit to the number of systems in which one tuner can be used.

What's in the Box
Radio receiver, remote control, remote battery, a user's manual, and warranty/registration information.

Note: A subscription to Sirius satellite radio is required to activate the Kenwood Here2Anywhere portable tuner.

3 out of 5 stars Hmm...Do I get it fixed or buy a different model?   October 15, 2006

I rely on my Sirius radio to get me through my sometimes legnthy commute so I find problems with it very frustrating. Over the 3 years I have had the H2A I have had to replace the antenna once, and other than the unit getting very hot and the screen being hard to read in the daylight, I could not complain. But now the unit makes no sound. I thought it was only a problem in my car so I took it in the house and plugged it in (I use it 80% in the car and only 20% indoors). No sound from the speakers in the house either. It IS receiving a signal and I can see the song name marching across the screen but no sound. I'm bummed. Guess I'll be on hold with customer service for awhile getting my receiver number changed, though I do love this little machine....

1 out of 5 stars Works OK until it fails.   May 6, 2006

I've had my H2A receiver for about a year. The display is almost useless except in total darkness, at eye level.

After several months it developed a problem where touching the front panel would lock it up or erase the presets. The problem slowly got worse until I had to use the remote exclusively.

This week while on the road it quit completely.

I can't understand why anyone would spend more than $100 for this unit when there are better ones for half the price, or really better ones for about the same.

And yes, it got really hot when it was working.

4 out of 5 stars Great Sound and Great Price   April 7, 2005

Got this from Sirius direct with the home kit and the car kit for $79! It's probably a close-out model, but it works great and sounds excellent.

The cassette adpater with the car kit sounds (almost) cd quality. Great highs and lows and bass.

I'm not sure about the other reviews with it overheating, but I have an hour and a half commute (on a good day) and haven't had a problem with the unit. The long commute is the main reason I got Sirius - impossible to find music during the "Drive Time".

The home kit works great too. I have the antenna set up in the middle of my living room (nowhere near a window) and have reception.

Hair Nation and the NFL channel! Almost makes me want a longer commute!

hi everybody. i got my kenwood sirius sattelite radio along with the home docking kit 2 weeks ago & i must tell you...i'm hooked on sirius. this is so much better than local radio. my favorite channel is Roadhouse35. but, i like Praise54 to. i've got my radio hooked up to my stereo system & it sounds great. the only thing i'm worried about is that unit get's hot near the LCD panel. but, nothing appears to be wrong with unit other than it get's hot. if it works, then i'll be happy. awesome radio though! thanks sirius!

2 out of 5 stars got eggs to fry??   January 12, 2005

What i like about the unit is the design. Not as tall as other units. Sound quality is great. Now the problem(s)! after 20 minutes of use the screen fades away and signal starts to get lost. After 30 minutes unit is usless. Turn it off for 20 minutes and it is fine for only 20 minutes. I have returned it and already have gone thru 2 other ones with same problem. Kenwood tells me that they have never heard of this problem. Other reviews on other sites are all about this problem. Unit gets so hot you could fry an egg on it. Poor vent design. Got another on the way...gonna give up after this one though. Good luck to all who buys this.
