 Sony Can Do Better January 9, 2009
Blu Ray is Sony's baby, so maybe they should work a little harder at making sure the whole experience is user friendly. Sure it works okay, but I had to look long and hard for confirmation the thing came with a remote. And what's with it taking a solid 30 seconds just to power up and get ready to operate? And now that I'm on my soapbox, why do they insist on charging twice as much for disks as DVD? Come on Sony, us consumers are not stupid- it really IS a glorified DVD so why charge so much for them?? As far as the vendor goes, I have no complaints; I got a good price right before Christmas and it arrived before promised. If DVDs look this good when upconverted (I have a 47" Philips LCD 1080p tv), then why bother paying more for Blu Ray?
 Great Blu Ray Player January 9, 2009
The Blu Ray was an excellent gift and my parents were very pleased with it. If you have worried about blu rays in the past, with this one you can stop. It loads fairly quickly and the picture is excellent.

Love it, beautiful pictures, wonderful sound. Looks cool, but download time is a little bit longer. An excellent buy, I am not sure any latest model, say, 550, can be better.

easily installed, easy to use, picture is fantastic, hardly noticable in my tv cabinet, would recommend to others.
