5 out of 5 stars Perfect!!!   August 6, 2008
I was looking around for the blackout curtains, but they were expensive and cumbersome to put up. After receiving these I had two rooms done in less than a minute! They look great, come off easy and really do block out all the light and heat. My only gripe is that the cutting blade really should have come with the shades, instead of having to purchase it separately.

4 out of 5 stars Awesome except for adhesive!   July 24, 2008

It's easy to cut and blacks out great. It actually looks pretty nice for just being thick paper. Comes with clips if you want to open it or clip it to the bottom of the window. The only problem was the adhesive. It fell after 5 minutes and attached to a lower section of paper tearing it. Now I only have 5 shades instead of the 6 included. I used clear tacks under the adhesive section and it works fine now.

5 out of 5 stars Helped with my migraine   July 21, 2008
I suffer from an occasional migraine. But when it hits, look out! Anyone who has suffered from these types of headaches knows how important it is to lie still, in a quiet, darkened room until the pain and nausea subsides. The last migraine happened just last week and I was so glad I had the foresight to purchase and install this shade. Middle of a hot, sunny summer day, I let down the shade (the clips are a breeze to use), the room immediately darkened and I was able to get through it better.
So if you suffer as I do, you may want to invest in these. They are cheap as chips in cost and I got free shipping to boot.
These shades are a no-brainer to install. No hammer or screwdriver required. And no unsightly holes in the woodwork if you decide to remove them, as with other types of shades.

Basically, it is black butcher paper with adhesive tape on one end. It does not work well (lets light in) and is a rip off.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful Redi Shades   July 2, 2008
I have allergies and have used Redi Shades for over 4 years, have used the cordless and the ones with the cord. I like the cordless best. The are easy to cut and easy to hang.

On windows that get usage and because I live in the south, (Hot here) sometimes the tape at the top of the blinds gradually come loose, so I just take a small piece of duct tape and place on center and corners when I first put up, then it doesn't make any difference how hot it gets, it won't come loose.

They are wonderful temporary shades, gives your room a nice look from the outside and you can replace as often as the dust requires. I would never go back to using regular blinds after using Redi Shades. In addition, the price is very reasonable.

Try them, you will not be disappointed.

If you are wanting to truly darken your room, take a white garbage bag and tape it across your window (so it looks okay from the outside). Cover with Expensive Dark Green Garbage bags (they are darker than cheap) (hang long across, use tape if in apartment or use tacks if in your own place to secure them. Then so your room looks nice, hang your room darkening Redi Shade.

You room will be really dark. My husband said our bedroom is like a cave. LOL.

I love them!

Alice
