Amazon.com Review
With the range of options and sturdy structure of the Pro Grip Ultra Tower, you can grate a mound of mozzarella in no time flat. A comfortable grip ball on top keeps the grater steady and your supporting hand away from sharp edges. In addition, this midsize grater's pyramid-style construction features medium and fine grating options (for topping off a pizza and the Caesar salad that goes with it) and a third option that is ideal for zesting citrus or shaving chocolate. The Tower's stainless-steel surface makes for fairly easy cleanup, and thanks to the grater's durable construction, you can always send it through the dishwasher. --Emily Bedard

1 out of 5 stars Worthless   July 17, 2004

1) The shape makes it unstable on your counter so it moves around a lot.
2) small surface area, so it takes a lot longer to grate something
3) impossible to clean on the inside up at the top, making it a safety hazard
4) But, hey, it sure looks cool, huh?

Forget it; get one of those cheap, four-sided graters from the supermarket.

3 out of 5 stars Could be better   October 30, 2002

Althought this grater has more style than most kitchen gadgets, it does not perform as well. It will grate anything you like, but it will take longer and your hands will hurt more. I find the classic, handle on top, four sided graters much easier and faster to use. Bottom line: for light grating, if you need some cheese grated once in a while it will function beautifuly, but for heavy duty every day use I do not recommend this item.

2 out of 5 stars Great Looking but Hard to Clean   October 19, 2002

I thought this grater looked great out on the counter and it does shred ok. The problem is cleaning it. Cheese and the like tend to get stuck up at the top which makes it very difficult to clean. Also, the little plastic feet started to come off so it wasn't worth it to even keep it anymore and we just pitched it.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful product   July 25, 2002

I love this grater! It does course, fine, and extra fine (or zesting). It doesn't slip thanks to the rubber feet, and the rubber ball on top makes it easy to hold. It is well-constructed, and it cleans up easily in our diswasher. It does all I need a grater to do , and I have no doubt that it will last. A great product that I highly recommend!

5 out of 5 stars The King of graters!   October 19, 2001

I whole-heartedly endorse the statement made by previous reviewers: this is, hands-down, the best grater I have ever used. The tripod shape prevents wobbling, and the rubber knob on top provides a firm, ergonomic grip that fits right into the hollow of the palm. I can burn through a block of cheese or a stack of carrots with this baby! Hash browns or potato latkes are a breeze.

Unlike one of the other reviewers, I have not had any problem with the feet coming off. Overall, it seems to be excellently constructed, and all the rubber pieces remain firmly attached. Also, after two years of use, it remains sharp, effective, and shiny, without a speck of rust.

I highly recommend this grater!
