5 out of 5 stars Love this product....   September 3, 2010

I purchased this Cuisinart Immersion Hand Blender to replace one that had a plastic blade protector, that broke. This one has a metal protector over the blade. The blending shaft and protector is one piece, easily attachs and can be removed with the push of a button. Easy to clean.

5 out of 5 stars The Best   August 30, 2010

This is our 3rd hand mixer over the past 10 years. This is a simple gadget with single speed and a flexible soft cord. This shows there are times when simple is the best and this is the best.

We bought this to puree food for my 6 month old. We LOVE it. I've used it for baby food, soup and smoothies. It is easy to clean, doesn't take up all the storage of a traditional food processor or blender and does a great job making my babies food nice and thin.

5 out of 5 stars Best method for Hollandaise Sauce!!   August 30, 2010

If you've ever struggled with making Hollandaise you won't ever again if you buy this blender! It's so easy! Here's the recipe:

4 egg yolks
1 Tbsp. lemon juice (approximately the juice a half of a lemon)
dash white pepper
1/4 tsp. salt

1 stick butter (1/2 c.)

Melt butter in microwave until just bubbly in a glass container with a handle. Combine first 4 ingredients in the beaker that comes with the blender and mix it with the immersion blender with a couple of pulses. Slowly pour butter (while still hot) into yolk mixture mixing in a little at a time to create an emulsion. Serve immediately. Sauce does not store well. Eat it all!!!

When you're done detach the blender from the motor, lick it off(carefully!!) and toss it in the dishwasher. Easy cleanup! This thing has paid for itself just in the amount of perfect Hollandaise sauce I've made with it!

5 out of 5 stars Exactly what I needed   August 30, 2010

I had gone through 2 blenders in the past 4 years and was looking for something that I could use for blending up soups. This lil' guy does that and so much more! Instead of grating onions, I now blend them using my immersion blender. I make pesto with it, I make blended coffee drinks, it's great. The only "complaint"? I wish the cup it came with was bigger. I would prefer to make 2 blended coffee drinks at a time instead of 1 but when I need to do that I usually grab a pitcher and blend it in that.
