Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Make up to 1.5 quarts of ice cream, sorbet, or frozen yogurt in just 30 minutes with this easy-to-use countertop appliance. The double-insulated mixing bowl freezes quickly, and there's no salt required. The unit provides a top-fill funnel for adding ingredients without making a mess, and its mixing paddle not only thoroughly blends, but it will also automatically reverse direction to prevent over-heating. Other highlights include a simple push-button on/off switch, a transparent lid for keeping an eye on the consistency, and durable plastic housing that wipes clean before storing it away. The ice-cream machine makes a nice addition to any backyard barbeque or kid's birthday party, and an instruction manual with great-tasting recipes comes included. The ice-cream maker measures 8" x 8" x 8.8".

5 out of 5 stars Works Perfectly   August 10, 2010
Al (Wisconsin)
This has worked perfectly for us, and we've made 3-4 batches of ice cream already. It's usually done in 25-30 minutes. Perhaps some other reviewers are using bad recipes. Here's what we use for sugar-free (low carb) ice cream:

Choc. Chip Ice Cream

2 c Heavy whipping Cream
24 drops liquid splenda
.5 tsp Vanilla
1 square unsweetened chocolate, chopped

We usually make only a half batch of this, because the ice cream is best right after it has been made.

5 out of 5 stars Was Pleasantly Surprised!   June 14, 2010
M. Page (Brevard NC)
'Was pleasantly surprised by this inexpensive machine. I have not experienced any of the negatives and find it easy and quick. So far have only used the recipes that came with it but have had 100% success. We keep the bowl in the freezer as suggested and then it is ready whenever we are.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty darn good   June 5, 2010
LadyJafar (Wisconsin)
At first I would agree with most of the reviews that it's a waste. Though some of the people don't follow the instructions quite accurately. The first time I tried I ended up with sweet liquid. I was disappointed but I gave it another try using a different recipe and sure enough ended up with good ice cream.

5 out of 5 stars Great for frozen yogurt   April 7, 2010
C. Fenwick (Portland, OR)
I have used this product 3 times and it has made great frozen yogurt, without all the sugar that the store brands have. Each time, I have only waited about 30 min, because my kids can't wait any longer. It is still "soft serve" but it is definitely frozen enough to pass as ice-cream for my little ones. The stuff that is left in the canister after each person has had a serving turns into hard ice cream that has to be scraped off of the sides with a spatula and is a great consistency so I imagine that any that was frozen over night would be fantastic. It is a much better consistency than if you try to make frozen yogurt or ice-cream by just putting in the freezer and isn't a much softer consistency than homemade ice-cream I remember having as a kid. It makes the perfect amount for 4 adults and is easy to clean up. You can store the empty canister in the freezer so that whenever you are in the mood for ice-cream it is ready to go. I would definitely recommend this product-in fact, I think I am buying one for everyone I know for Christmas this year.
