And they're comfortable, with sheepskin lining for the back of the hand and soft fleece for the palm. You won't notice the stitching on them, either, because it's tidily inside out. A far cry from clumsy oven mitts, these gloves give your fingers full articulation for basting, flipping, or rotating grill items. I wear these gloves to remove the grate and ash tray from my fireplace to dump the ashes. There are still glowing coals when I remove them and these gloves protect me from burns as long as I don't hold the grate or tray for an extended period of time.

I ordered these after seeing the America's Test Kitchen review in which they picked similar ones as their choice. These have worked great for handling hot grates and my cast-iron smoker box. The leather feels and looks great and I've found them very comfortable.

These gloves work fine for handling hot grills as long as you make every effort to handle the hot metal for as short a time as possible. Get just a little careless and hold on for just a bit too long, and you'll get burned! I would have liked a bit more insulation, but still, for the money, these gloves aren't bad at all.
