Disapointing February 25, 2005 0 out of 14 found this review helpful
I love Giada, I really do, Love her shows and recipes. The problem is that too many of the recipes in the book can just be found by visiting her show list on the Food Network Site. Too many of the recipes were featured on her show. I hoped to see NEW recipes from Giada, not all the same ones I had already seen. It is nice to have it in book form for the future, but, I just expected more.
Food Network Fans TAKE NOTICE of some great Italian Recipes! February 24, 2005 16 out of 20 found this review helpful
Giada De Laurentiis stars in the Food Network cooking show called "Everyday Italian", a show that I find both enjoyable and pleasant to watch. I congratulate her on her success at writing her first cook book and for doing such a great job of selecting "125 Simple and Delicious Recipes"!
Want to cook great Italian food? Tired of spending too much time cooking or finding the right ingredients? You will be amazed at how well this cooking book is put together, especially considering it's the authors very first attempt at a book like this. I can't tell you how many books I've bought that just sit and collect dust. This is NOT that sort of book. I've already enjoyed 2 complete dinners, including 2 different and tremendous desserts. The recipes I chose were very simple and didn't require that I spend hours shopping for unique or expensive ingredients.
The Bottom Line is that you'll easily find several recipes that are literally SIMPLE to create and taste delicious. Main Entrees, Salads, Breads, Desserts and tons of helpful hints complete this great collection of Recipes. And you won't have to look far for ANY of the ingredients in these recipes-most everything is probably in your pantry already. Giada also teaches us great ways to turn our leftovers into creative and delicious Italian dishes.
Happy Reading and Happy Cooking to ALL!

Did I really want to see 50 pictures of Giada? February 24, 2005 28 out of 46 found this review helpful
I was looking forward to the release of this cookbook for so long. HUGE disapointment. This is a book of 125 simple and delicious recipes...that part is true. If only we were given more than the 28 photos of finished dishes instead of the 50 photos of Giada's face...often they are the same photo re-used. It is really tiring and most of all UNIMPORTANT to the book. If you glance at this book you will quickly realize..it's "all about Giada" and the food seems to be less important than that. It is SO SIMPLE! Why didn't I think of it! I will simply return the book, get my money back and print the recipes from the Food Network website!

Well as a tried and true Italian, I am just the person to test this book. It is great. Easy but sumptious recipes. Your taste buds will thank you and so will your wife as mine did because the recipes are easy.
