Finally a way to keep unwanted animals out of the garden and protect your yard, fruit trees, vegetables and flowers from hungry or destructive creatures. Cats, dogs, deer, rabbits, large birds, and many others. The patented Scarecrow motion-activated sprinkler is the smartest scarecrow ever invented. When it sees an intruder it instantly releases full garden hose water pressure towards the trespasser. The effect is both startling and immediate. Animals quickly get out of the area and avoid it in the future. The ScareCrow motion-activated sprinkler is constructed of durable, high-quality materials, and has been designed to provide many years of reliable service.

Using the ScareCrow is easy. Simply attach a standard garden hose to its base, set the ScareCrow in the ground in the area you want to protect, and then turn on the water. Once you switch the unit on, it is ready to go.

How does it work?
The ScareCrow uses a combination of sudden noise, unexpected movement, and a startling blast of water to create a memorable and unpleasant experience for the trespasser.
The animal immediately associates this unpleasant experience with the location, and to avoid similar surprises, learns to avoid the area. If an animal chooses to return, the ScareCrow will be waiting.
While a human may flee several steps after activating a ScareCrow, animals are typically affected to a much greater degree. In most cases they run much farther, and stay away longer. Because the unit only triggers when the animal moves, its behavior is difficult for animals to anticipate, making it a very effective deterrent.

4 out of 5 stars Does NOT Work 100% For Heron But Does Deter   October 13, 2008
Positives of this scarecrow are that it gives the extended family a lot of laughter every time we forget it's there or are doing yardwork and get sprayed by an unexpected jet of water. The miniature dachshund also loves to attack it -- setting the nozzle off which makes her bark and growl even more insanely at it.

It has NOT, however, kept a great blue heron from taking fish from our koi pond. Just this morning I found yet another speared (but not eaten) very large dead goldfish laying on the lawn nearby -- seemingly captured by the heron and then abandoned. Since this is the third fish we've lost since installing the scarecrow -- I would suggest it might scare the bird away from consuming all the fish, after it steals one fish, but it does not keep it away altogether.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent scarecrow sensor works!   October 6, 2008
We were having a difficult time keeping rabbits off our lawn. One had returned yet again to start another nest, after I had cautiously relocated her bunnies from her last litter to another area. I was concerned as I did not want to cause any harm to her offspring. Once this product was installed, it was able to detect the slightest motion in its path, and a stream of water would scare it off. We have not seen any more rabbits on the lawn since this was installed, however we did water down a guy sent to do some lawn work at our request!! NOTE: If the scarecrow is set at its most sensitive, a strong breeze or wind will also set it off.

4 out of 5 stars What a great product!   October 3, 2008
Before the Scarecrow, my garden was being "eaten alive" by all sorts of pests...racoons, skunks, squirrels, etc. Even after covering with chicken wire and mesh, they figured out a way to get in. With the scarecrow in place, I took down the ugly chicken wire and my garden was left untouched! It's a terrific concept (wish I would have thought of it) that really truly works. Just have to remember to turn it off before tending to your crops, or else your its next victim. Fantastic product!

5 out of 5 stars Hey cat, do you want a bar of soap and towel with that shower?   September 28, 2008
I live in an area that is dominated by cat lovers, but I am a bird lover. My feeding area for birds became a smorgasbord for cats. Every few days I would find a pile of Dove feathers. I was seriously thinking of taking down my feeders. Then a friend told me of a water sprayer to keep unwanted pests out of your yard, I looked on Amazon and sure enough there was the Scarecrow. I ordered one and in five days had my new defense against cats. I had a great time watching cats scatter as the Scare Crow sprayed them with water. In only two days things changed from direr straights to victory. The enemy now cowers in cover far from my bird feeders. Instead of saying "hey you cats get out of here," I say "hey cats, do you want a bar of soap and towel with that shower?"

4 out of 5 stars Perfect-no, good-yes   September 19, 2008
I bought my Scarecrow to deal with skunks that are digging for grubs throughout my small front yard. It has appeared to generally work, though certainly not entirely. The main failing I see for the product is the limited sensor range. The water will easily sweep my entire lawn, but it's difficult to find a placement that ensures a skunk anywhere in the yard will trip it. Seems it works better if you have a narrow space through which animals are traveling.

That said, it's definately reduced the frequency that I've found myself filling little holes in the lawn each morning. And one last thing- there's no swivel ring on the hose connection which makes putting the hose on and off akward, cause you have to rotate the sprinkler around the hose. So I'd recommend getting some quick release fittings to boot.
